THE PUPPIES!!

The puppies are 8 days old now and I can't believe how much they are growing. They are already beginning to "walk" in a clumsy way. In another few days they will have thier eyes open. They have been great and so has Venus.

Venus update

Venus was X-rayed today. Vet says 9 for sure and amybe 10
We are very excited! Due date is anytime between wednesday and friday.
She is big as a room. It makes her legs look like they are 2 inches long!

Earth Dog Practice April 10th

Beach

Does anyone here ever go to the beach with their dog? Are you interested in getting together with a few people and their dogs and going as a small group so the dogs can run, swim and play together instead of just going alone?

I know where there is a private beach that allows dogs and won't hassell us about being their, it is very dog friendly and not far from Gulf Shores.
If anyone is interested reply to this post and I will check back.

Does any one know where there is an agility course set up that a person can use for training in the Fairhope area?
I have been doing some low level training on my own but need the use of an actual agility course. I don't have all of the equipment I need to finish training and would really rather not drive to Pensacola to train.

My Buddy has come to know exactly the precise time to sneak a nibble from the counter top - yesterday he helped himself to scarmbled eggs in the morning and in the afternoon, a freshly baked cookie!!!! He knows when I am down the hall - it's perfect time to get into trouble. However, he's an angel when I am around.

My terrier Bentely

I have a terrier named Bentely and I have always wanted to do earth dog with him. Does anyone know where I can find out about this? And how do you train them to do it? He has dug up moles in my yard and whenever we are out if there is a drainage ditch he can get into he will make a run for it, so I think he'd be good at it.
Any help would be great

Second week of March there is a HUGE show in Louisville KY. It is a regional and national specialty for many breeds and supported entries for over a dozen. Comformation, obedience and rally. Entries should rival Westminster! 5 days of dogs, dogs and more dogs!

Venus

Well I took Venus up today to meet her new 'boyfriend'. They had a great time playing and running about. He was VERY amorous, but she is a day or so from being "in the mood" so we are going back up on tuesday. While I was there I got to play with a litter of 5 week old Springer puppies! They were so darn cute I wanted to bring them all home and I can't wait to have a pile of my own so squish and love on. It's going to be so hard to let them go, I don't think I can stand it They are starting to interact with one another and growling and barking. It's so funny to watch little babies acting like they are all big and bad.
Here is a picture of her boyfriend and one of her after swimming and playing water fetch. I plan on video taping the mating as well as the whelping of the puppies.

Pensacola Dog Show

There is a dog show in Pensacola at the Escambia County Equestrian Center on the first saturday and sunday in march. As well as conformation (all breed) there will also be Obedience trials as well as Rally competitions. Showing starts at 8 am and goes until Best in Show judging. There are always plenty of venders there where you can find hard to find dog stuff, and a lot of fun stuff as well. They do have consessions...typical fare, hotdogs, hamburgers and nachos.
Come out, have fun, meet some really cool dogs!!!
